Stone wool fire/smoke & acoustic barrier is fast to install and provides up to 2 hours fire integrity with only one layer of 50mm thickness being required. Firetherm Stone Wool has been developed to inhibit the spread of smoke and flames through concealed spaces such as ceiling voids and to reduce the amount of sound transmission. The product is suspended as a curtain and is fixed at the head using mild steel angle and at the bottom and sides with metal strapping. The product has a number of different fixing systems depending on the period of fire protection required and the substrate it is being secured to. It is a high density material that can also provide an acoustic barrier up to 44dBA RW when used in conjunction with a suspended ceiling system. Tested to: BS 476
